Into the Wild — A Retreat for Female Changemakers

Stop Building Alone.
Start Building With Clarity.

A 5-day retreat for female changemakers and women building something new — where honest conversations, strategic clarity, and deep connection replace the noise of doing it all by yourself.

📅 3–7 March 2027 📍 South Gran Canaria 👩‍💻 10–16 women ☀️ 5 days / 4 nights

All-inclusive · Limited spots · Applications open

🌊 Oceanside, not office-side
🧭 Coaching, not content overload
🤝 Peers, not an audience

Sound familiar?

You’re not failing. You’re just building in conditions that make everything harder than it needs to be.

You have the vision, the skills, and the drive — but you're making every single decision alone, and it's starting to wear you down.
You started this to build something meaningful, but most days it feels like you're just surviving the to-do list.
You know you need to step back and think strategically, but there's never a good time — because you're always in it.
You crave real conversations with women who understand what it's like — not networking events where everyone's performing.
Somewhere between the purpose and the practicalities, you lost sight of your why — and you want it back.

Most retreats give you a break.
This one gives you direction.

This retreat isn’t a wellness weekend with networking sprinkled on top. And it’s not a conference compressed into a villa.

It’s a structured container — five days where you stop reacting and start choosing. Where you reconnect with your values, get honest feedback from people who actually understand your path, and leave with a plan you believe in.

Two founders who’ve done it themselves will guide you through it. A small group of women will hold you to it. And an island off the Atlantic coast will hold the space for all of it.

The clarity you're looking for doesn't come from more thinking.
It comes from the right conversations — in the right place — with the right people.

— Nomads & Pirates 🏴‍☠️

This is for you if

You don’t need to be at a specific stage. You need to be at a specific mindset: ready.

You're building a business, pivoting careers, or redesigning your life around purpose

You work remotely or want to — and location flexibility matters to you

You're tired of figuring everything out alone and want people who actually get it

You care about purpose, values, and building something that aligns with who you actually are

You want both rest and results — not one or the other

This is probably not for you if

You're looking for a passive beach holiday with zero structure
You want a pitch competition or investor networking event
You're not open to honest conversations and vulnerability

Five days, one arc

Each day builds on the last. You’ll move from looking inward to looking forward — and leave with something real.

Day 1

Arrive & decompress

Welcome dinner and introductions. No workshops — just landing, connecting, and letting go of the week you left behind.

Day 2

Know yourself

Step back from the noise and reconnect with what matters to you. Get clearer on where you are, what’s shaping your decisions, and what you want to make space for next.

Day 3

Know your path

Explore what a meaningful next chapter could look like — and start connecting the dots between who you are, what you care about, and where you want to go.

Day 4

Build your strategy

Turn clarity into movement. Step back from the big picture, identify what’s been holding you back, and shape a way forward that feels both ambitious and realistic — with the support of the group.

Day 5

Commit & close

Bring the week together. Share the decisions, ideas and plans you're taking home, name what you're committing to, and leave with greater clarity — and women who will stay in your corner long after the retreat ends.

Running through the event

1:1 coaching sessions with Ana or Lígia · morning movement (yoga, walks, beach) · small-group hot seats · open reflection time. The rhythm is intentional: deep work in the morning, space in the afternoon.

It doesn't end on Day 5

2–3 weeks after the retreat, you'll have a private 1:1 follow-up session with Ana or Lígia — to check in on progress, address blockers, and adjust your 90-day plan. This isn't a standalone event. It's a program with real continuity.

What you'll leave with

Not just memories. Not just good vibes. Tangible things you can use the Monday after you get home.

Clarity on what you're building and why — not someone else's framework, yours

A 90-day strategy that's realistic, specific, and built around your actual life

An accountability partner who'll check in with you long after this week

Real relationships with women who understand your path — not LinkedIn connections

Permission to build it your way — and the confidence that your way makes sense

A 1:1 follow-up session 2–3 weeks later to keep you on track

Five days won't change your life.
But they can change how you see it — and that changes everything.

The setting

South Gran Canaria in March. An island off the Atlantic coast with year-round spring, volcanic landscapes, and the kind of quiet that’s hard to find on the mainland.

We chose an island deliberately. There’s something about being surrounded by ocean that makes it easier to step away from everything you’re carrying — and see it from a distance.

☀️ South Gran Canaria

🌡️ 22°C average in March
🏖️ Coastline within reach
✈️ 3–4h from most of Europe
🌿 Nature, not nightlife

🏡 Accommodation

🛏️ 4 nights in shared accommodation, with rooms shared with 1–2 other participants

Who's guiding this

Two co-founders who each made a real shift — and now guide the women making theirs.

Ana Milhazes

Sociologist, career coach, sustainability advocate. Left a conventional career to build a purposeful life from a small village in rural Portugal. Founder of Ana, Go Slowly and Zero Waste Portugal. Author. European Climate Pact Ambassador. Co-founder of Nomads & Pirates. Retreat facilitator, having designed and hosted several retreats focused on purposeful living, personal growth and meaningful work.

Lígia Gomes

With a background spanning pharmaceutical sciences, anthropology, and international development, she went on to work for the UN World Food Programme, ran Remote Year in Portugal, and co-founded two startups — one in responsible consumption, and Nomads & Pirates. Community-building has been part of her professional life since 2014, most recently as Community Manager at the Nagasaki Nomad Residency. Along the way, she's visited 80+ countries and counting.

Together

We built Nomads & Pirates from scratch, remotely, with purpose. We coach the women who are trying to do the same thing — and we know the difference between advice from someone who's read about it and advice from someone who's lived it.

Good questions

Things you’re probably wondering before saying yes.

Do I need to be running a business/project already?

No. This retreat is for women at an inflection point — whether you're building a business, pivoting your career, or redesigning your life around purpose. What matters is that you're ready to get honest about what you want and willing to do the work.

What if I'm not a "founder" in the traditional sense?

Good — neither are most of the women we work with, at least not at the start. If you're creating something new — a project, a service, a new chapter — you belong here.

Is this in English?

Yes. The entire program is in English. Our participants come from across Europe and beyond.

Will I have free time?

Yes. Every afternoon has unstructured time — for reflection, 1:1 sessions, a walk along the coast, or simply doing nothing. The rhythm is deep work in the morning, space in the afternoon.

What about dietary requirements?

All dietary needs are accommodated — vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and others. We'll ask about this before you arrive.

Are there other payment options if needed?

Yes. If you need a different payment arrangement, just get in touch with us and we'll see what we can work out.

What's the group size?

10 to 16 participants. Small enough for honest conversations, intimate hot seats, and real connection. Large enough for diverse perspectives.

How do I get to Gran Canaria?

Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) has direct flights from most major European cities, with flight times typically around 3–4 hours. Flights are not included in the retreat price, but we’re happy to help you find the best option if needed. Airport transfers are included and will be arranged around agreed arrival and departure times.
