During the pandemic, Travis King found himself in Puerto Escondido, drawn by the mission to make a positive impact. Settling in La Punta, he noticed the beautiful beaches marred by plastic waste. Determined to be part of the solution, he founded Sostenible Puerto Escondido.

Ana had the chance to learn more about this amazing project when she visited Mexico this year. She was inspired by the incredible work being done to keep the beaches clean and promote sustainability.

What started as a small initiative has grown into a community movement, with local and international volunteers coming together to clean up the beaches and promote sustainability. They’ve established more than 20 recycling points around Puerto Escondido, providing a place for everyone to properly dispose of plastic waste.
